da Vinci Robotic Prostatectomy
This state of the art equipment allows CUA to perform a minimally invasive radical prostatectomy in limited time with little or no blood loss and minimal risk of infection. Normally patients have only a brief hospital stay and require a catheter for five days. This procedure allows patients to resume normal activities much faster than with traditional surgery. View the video on this website for further information on this exciting new procedure. Contact our office for a personal consultation to determine the suitability of the procedure for your individual situation.
Female Incontinence
CUA diagnoses the female patient for the treatment of incontinence including the use of the Monarc urethral support sling for stress urinary incontinence. Made of a soft mesh material, the sling is placed under the urethra and functions as a hammock on which the urethra rests to prevent accidental urine leakage. CUA specializes in assisting females of all ages with incontinence related issues.
Male Sexual Health
CUA devotes part of its practice to the diagnosis and treatment of issues involving male sexual health. Numerous videos are available on this web site to educate the patient in the areas of vasectomies, vasectomy reversals, and erectile dysfunction, including penile implants. We offer both the traditional vasectomy where a segment of the vas is cut or we now offer a new procedure which is called the "Vasclip®" where the vas is clamped instead of cut. The Vasclip® causes less pain and fewer complications and is 97.5% effective in preventing pregnancy. Our medical experts will work with you to provide you with solutions based on your individual medical and situational needs. To learn more about Vasclip®, please visit www.vasclip.com.
Kidney Stones
Although hereditary factors, diet and environmental factors will be considered, our doctors will determine the method of treatment for you. There are many types of kidney stones and numerous types of treatment. The stone size and type will be assessed in order to determine which procedure is right for you. Treatments range from over the counter medication, recommending dietary changes, increasing fluid intake, and/or prescribing oral analgesics. In more severe cases and depending on where the stone is located, one of several surgery techniques may be used.
BPH (Enlarged Prostate)
Causes frequent urination or the inability to completely empty the bladder. Numerous relatively painless in-office procedures can be used to treat a number of enlarged prostrates. The thermodilation system is a minimally invasive procedure and uses microwave heat to reduce the enlarged tissue of the prostrate. For more severe cases, traditional surgery or the regular TURP and GreenLight Laser may be recommended.
We also offer non surgical options for the treatment of enlarged prostate. Click to read more about Thermatrx, or contact our office today.
